Brother Henry Janton

JANTON, JOSEPH “Henry”, 90, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Brentwood by the Bay Assisted Living, Warwick on Friday, August 30, 2024, and he is now reunited with his beloved wife of 70 years, Monica (Brousseau) Janton, who predeceased Henry on March 30, 2024.

Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Joseph H. and Doris (Lovely) Janton.

While attending a wedding, Joseph met his future wife Monica over 70 years ago. They raised their family on Aberdeen Street in West Warwick, where they made friendships with their neighbors that lasted a lifetime. Henry was a man of deep love and devotion. He cherished every moment spent with his family, always making sure they felt the warmth of his heart. His passion for the ocean was as vast as the sea itself, and his love for fishing was a testament to his patience and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed his ice cream sundaes at Diggy’s, his Thursday breakfast rituals and his special rides to the casino’s crap table. His spirit will live on in the gentle waves, the quiet stillness of the dawn on the water, and in the hearts of all who knew him.

Henry was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He owned and operated Janton Electric for many years. He was a member of IBEW Local Union 99. He was a proud member of the West Warwick Elks Lodge 1697, where he served as Exalted Ruler for multiple terms.

He was the loving father of Joseph “Joe” Janton and his wife, Gina, of Cranston, the late Michael Janton, his wife Heidi, of Coventry, Jeffrey Janton of West Warwick, Lisa (Lanoie) Gillis, her husband Daniel, of West Warwick, Lori Janton and her wife Marissa, of Hope.

Grandfather of Joseph Janton V (Erica), Mark Janton (Kristin), Kaylee Janton, Maddison Previte, Jonathan Janton (Lauren), Christopher Janton, Lauren Lanoie  (Shannon), Xavier Janton, and Jaxson Janton. Great grandfather of Jacob, Clara, Devin, Julianna, Annabelle, Gabriella, Logan, and Christopher. He was the brother of the late Virgina “Ginger” Pierce and Linda Ahern. He is also survived by his special family friend, Sandra Janton.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial is respectfully private.
