Brother Henry Kandzerski

Brother Henry Kandzerski passed away on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at the age of 87.
Henry H. Kandzerski, 87, of Johnston, RI, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday September 3, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
 
He was a devoted husband, loving father and cherished friend. Born October 21, 1938 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Henry and Edith (Caldwell) Kandzerski. He was the brother of the late Joan Laycock and David Kandzerski.
 
His life was a tapestry of strength, ambition, persistence and resilience encompassed with love. Henry’s early years were spent in several branches of the military being the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Coast Guard reserves, with most of his service time in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam conflict. His total service time was from1956 to 1969.
 
During his military service he met the love of his life also from
Providence, RI, Kathryn (DiCicco) Kandzerski to whom he shared 67 years of marriage with and who he is survived by.
 
After working several vocations, he decided to venture out and start his own commercial and industrial wiring company Aladdin Electric Inc. in 1977. He was a long time member of IBEW Local Union 99 and his business has been successful for almost 50 years and passed down 2 generations.
 
He is survived by 3 children, Lisa Ouellette, Henry Kandzerski, Jr., and Kristen Kandzerski, 4 grandchildren, Kristopher Ouellette, Kathryn (Kate) Kandzerski, Lauren Carcamo, and Joshua Kandzerski, and 3 great grandchildren Octavia Kandzerski, Parker Kandzerski and Amalia Carcamo.
 
Family and friends were most important to him which facilitated living his life to the fullest filled with joy and laughter. He participated in all activities that he was invited to and always had the best of times. 
 
He enjoyed an abundant social life by attaining memberships to the Santa Maria Di Prata Society, Pine Tree Gun Club, and Johnston Town Hall Lanes Bowling League. He was a Lionel Train Collector and an antique car enthusiast. Among his favorites is his restored1957 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Coupe. 
 
Our family is grateful for the Providence VA personnel for assisting Henry and our family with great support. We also wish to thank Hope Health Hospice of RI for their compassionate care.
 
Funeral services will be private. 
 
Celebration of life will be at a later date.
