Brother Phil Therien
Philip P. Therien, 60, of Smithfield, died Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by his family.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Roger and Elaine (Wills) Therien, he was a graduate of North Smithfield High School, and resided in Smithfield for the past twenty-eight years.
Philip was a union electrician, proudly working for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #99 for over thirty-five years. His skills extended far beyond his profession; he was a true "Jack of all trades," known for his ability to build homes, hang sheetrock, and perform finish carpentry.
Philip was well-regarded not only for his craftsmanship but also for his generous spirit. He volunteered his time and skills to benefit the community, contributing as an electrician for events like Woonsocket's Autumnfest and the Annual Carnival at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed attending concerts. He had a great sense of humor and always brought joy and laughter at every celebration.
He is survived by children, Ginger Therien of Warwick and James Therien of Douglas, Mass.; his sister, Michelle Therien of Woonsocket; and his brothers, Joseph Therien of Smithfield, Andre Therien of Woonsocket and Jean Therien of Lincoln.
